Just a Moment
Everlasting Father
Everthing I do, everywhere I go,
and every breath I take, He is with me.
No on can intimidate me, no one can terrorize me.
Because everything in heaven is mine.
He knows my problems. He knows my needs.
He cares for me. He cares for me.
I won't be a beggar, or a theif,
Because I am supported by a rich man.
We know each other. He lives in me.
He is my oxygen, without Him, I could die.
He prepares my table, before my enemies,
Though I pass in the valley of death,
I will fear no evil.
Everlasting Father
He loves me, He loves you, He loves us.

Celebrating Celebration
Two years ago, I was more than pleasantly surprised by a Sunday Service like no other I had ever attended. In our church, we were blessed with the presence and inspiration of a group called Hindura, straight from the appalling conditions in Rwanda, Africa. They did not come here to hang their heads and plead for understanding of the misery in their homeland: They came to celebrate their Savior, Jesus Christ. And celebrate they did!
I have never witnessed such pure joy in all of my life and it left me stunned with the realization that most of us (American Christians) do not have a clue how to really celebrate God’s love and power, in us and through us.
The lead singer was a young man named Enric Sifa. Enric is in America today on a student visa and he is continuing his celebrating through education and song. He writes and sings for God from the love that God has given him to share. His concern and desire to share the celebration stems from deep pain and great joy, joy which rises to the heights of heaven for love of our Lord Jesus
I was given a copy of his CD. I listened and listened and hoped to share many of his thoughts with others in conversations about God. One thought that changed my own life is found in his song, “Everlasting Father,” a song about trusting our Father’s love and power. The chorus states that “I won’t be a beggar or a thief, because I am supported by a rich man.” That spoke directly to my need to trust God with my financial situation and that trust did not come easy.
But the song would not leave me alone, and the day came when I had to say, “God this budget doesn’t work on paper. Please finagle my bank account so that I can get through this shortage.” Don’t be surprised when I tell you that He blew me away with His answers.
Thank you, Enric, for such a simple lesson about God’s desire to fulfill our needs. And thank you God, for continuing your work in Enric’s life as He celebrates You.
